I know that Software Engineering is mainly focused on Programming, but then what is a Computer Programmer/Analyst? What do they focus on?

Thanks

They’re essentially the same thing.

Software Engineering is the development of software, and Computer Programming/Analysis is just that.

Most good software engineers are programmers as well, but their job focuses more on the aims of a program, and how to organize it, and the programmer/analyzer is the one who figures out how to make it all work.

SOFTWARE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY IS THE STUDY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOFTWARE AND IT TOOLS AS WELL BUT WHEREAS COMPUTER ANALYST/PROGRAMMER ARE THOSE WHO DESIGNS DIFFERNET KIND OF SOFTWARES BY USING THE SOFTWARE ENGINNERING TECHNOLOGY..AS FAR YOU QUESTION THEY MAINLY FOCOUSED ON THAT THEY PROGRAM OUT THE SOFTWARE WHICH WE DO USE NOW AND ALSO THEY ANALYSIS IT…THAT’S IT..I HOPE U FIND IT

Putting Analyst in the title usually means that the person would "analyze" the requirements of a job or software package. In many instances, the Analyst would be presented with a problem or end result requested by management or some department in the company that would require an I.T. solution. The Analyst would look at the end goal, and be responsible for determining the best way to achieve the goal.

Suppose the accounting department needed a complex series of reports from their software, and the system was not capable of reporting in that manner. The Analyst might decide whether to use software or coding already available to the company, use company programmers (which the Programmer / Analyst might be performing in a dual role), or outsourcing the problem because it was more complex than could be handled " in house" to achieve the end result.

First of there isn’t such as thing as Software Engineering as far as Engineering goes. There is no equivalent certification; like Civil Engineering, that goes for Software.

    Now the facts:

An engineer is someone who applies science and develops something (i.e. technology)
An Analyst is someone who performs Analysis; i.e. they think of how to make it while they may not actually make it (like a architect designs a building while the civil engineer builds it)
And a Programmer is the same as saying Software Engineer

So a programmer/analyst focuses on designing AND developing software.
