I live a short drive away from it. It straddles the Nevada-Arizona border and is as thick on the bottom as an American Football field from goalline to goalline.

the documentary channels say Hoover Dam is the 8th wonder of the world and the such, which gives the impression that it applies to the present. The 8th wonder has been Itaipu Dam long ago. not even 3 Gorges Dam will generate the power of Itaipu on a daily basis.

There were cold …
There were cold water pipes built into it to cool the concrete. When the concrete was finally cooled and settled, the pipes themselves were filled with concrete. The dam is so huge, if it weren’t for those pipes, it would have taken close to 70 years to settle.

Kindof off topic here but their is a new bridge going over nearby the dam and it is going to be huge. They are redoing the road and everything. I think you can see part of the bridge at around 1:22

I remember seeing old videos of the Hoover dam under construction and I don’t remember seeing any Blacks building it, perhaps there were some but I didn’t see any blacks on the workforce

Yes, i have pished well more than 35 trillion litres on several occasions. Just cos its got decorative pylons in doesnt make it good. Its just like a puddle except god didnt make it.
