I am going to transfer soon but i’m not so sure what to do. I want to go for computer engineering but i’m also interested in computer engineering. I know i can major in both, but i saw this major "Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology" so i was wondering if this was a combination of both, or what exactly is it? Also what type of jobs could i work in if i majored in this…thanks in advance.
The difference is one guy is an actual engineer the other is a tech. They went to different schools. Im currently major in Computer engineering degree.
A degree in Engineering and a degree in Technology are different. an engineering makes you become an engineer( in long term you can get a job) while a tech degree make you become technician/technologist.
The ECE degree requires math through calculus III and differential equations, while ECET stops at calculus II.
Engineer = design / management if public safety is involved. $25 – $65 / hour.
Technologist = build / repair according to the Engineer’s design; design things that would not harm the public if the product failed. $16 – $30 / hour
Technician = build / repair. $8 – $24 / hour
