which schools can I apply to do graduate education in Electrical Engineering if i have a Bachelor of science in Electrical engineering technology ?
Most schools i have contacted say i need an engineering degree as if the one i have is not engineering so i am a bit confuse… HELP ANY ONE HELP!!
This is a sad situation and I’ve heard it many times. You think you’re getting an engineering degree and you aren’t, you are getting a technology degree. Not the same.
You cannot get an accredited MS in engineering without an accredited BS in engineering, and you don’t have that.
Sorry.
You might want to take a look at Drexel University in Philadelphia. They have a pretty extensive Engineering department – they might have what you’re looking for.
Good luck!

The school I went to is pretty flexible about that sort of thing. The couple of things to be aware of: is your engineering technology program ABET accredited? If so, you shouldn’t have too much problem getting into a graduate program. Secondly, you may find you’ll just need to make up a few classes (maybe some more advanced mathematics) before being fully accepted into the graduate program.
See what the school I went to has to say: http://catalog.niu.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=7&poid=1083

I don’t have a school in mind but if you find one let me know. My husband is in the same boat. An electrical engineering technology degree isn’t an engineering degree, you become a technician not a engineer and thats why the schools are giving you trouble. It’s an accreditation thing. Good Luck…
