I am going for Chemical engineering technology to seneca@york,
and i WILL transfer myself to a university for chemical engineering as soon as i can..
is it really possible and please tell me HOW does it work
i m confused since many ppl; tell me tht its a ‘scam’ or evn it doesnt usually occer..and is maintaing 3.0 GPA out of 4.0 fine?
Thanks in advance
I think most of the credits you have will not transfer, basic credits like math/english will. A 3.0 is very good. You have to talk to an admissions counselor at seneca.
The question is basically what I wanted to know. When I transfer in two years from a community college I wanted to go into Electrical Engineering but there is another major which is Electrical Engineering Technology. Then I wanted to ask: Does it have different path or classes that you have to take? Then, will the same transfer program work for both of them?(this one might be a dugh question but I still want to know)And then What is the difference between the Electrical Engineering Bachelor and the Electrical Engineering Technology.
The relationship between Engineering and Engineering Technology are similar to Lawyers and Paralegals, Doctors and Nurses, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Techs. Basically an engineering technologist assist the engineer or does simpler or more hands on tasks. The programs are NOT compatible ET degrees do not require hardly any advanced math or upper level engineering classes. So if you start in ET you would almost have to start over once you transfer to the university if you wanted to be an engineer. When it comes to Engineering and Engineering Tech degrees some schools will lie or mislead you, particularly schools that only offer ET degrees. They will try and tell you that they are equivalent but they are not. You should go to ABET.org to find a real engineering school that will get you a real engineering degree.
I applied to the University of Toledo (in Ohio) and I wanted to major in Civil engineering, but they said they admitted me to Construction Engineering Technology. So what are the Differences between Construction Engineering Technology and Civil engineers. And if I pursue a career in one of these chosen areas, what could I expect as a Salary? and which one will I have some days at a desk and others on site?
Do not make a career choice based on how much money you will earn because you will just be disappointed in the end.
Having said that, civil engineering and CET are very different. Civil engineering majors design things. CET majors build them. As a CET major, you will not get to design things. You will be responsible for building a project designed by the civil engineer. You will be charged with coming up with cheaper ways to build better products. You will most likely be in charge of construction, but you’ll probably be supervised by a civil engineer. Both CET majors and civil engineering majors will have days at a desk and on site. A CET major will probably have more time on site as they usually work for construction companies. A CET degree is easier to earn as it’s not nearly math intensive as a civil engineering degree.
Basically, I’m wondering if someone could explain, distinguish, and tell the similarities and differences between Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering Technician? This answer can as long as it needs to be. For those who are thinking about answering this question don’t feel over whelmed. It’s more of an inquiry than anything. This would help me out a lot. Thanks
mechanical engineering divided into 3 departments
production
Vachel’s
power
production department studies mainly in design production Equipment.
such as dies, bearings, gears, mechanisms, machines parts as-simpling,hook joints, all machining process such as milling &wilding….,all casting procedures such as centrifugal and continuous and fer as alloys Fever Assad non fer ass or metal and non metal materials and its treatment.
Vachel’s mainly in design Vachel’s equipments.
What the difference between:
Computer networking technology
Computer programming technology
Computer science
Computer Engineering Technology
I want to build computers and make programs. Does that mean I would do Computer engineering and then computer programming technology?
Would simply doing computer science and engineering be a "catch-all" for what I want?
Any advice on where I can understand computer fields?
Could i transfer from Wentworth Institute of Tech, in a mechanical engineering technology program to Umass Amherst which is a Regular mechanical engineering program and have my credits transfer correctly?
Wel im really good at calculus which is the basis of engineering and i havent taken the engineering technology course yet, my back up school is Wentworth, i was just wondering is i went there for a year, got my grades up to a high A ( my GPA is a low A right now) then transfer to Umass Amherst and continue in a Engineering Program.
It’s possible, but few credits would transfer. (General Ed credits would transfer).
Think carefully about this. Engineering Math is very difficult for someone used to the pace of Engineering Technology math. You could end up blowing your GPA with no way back to the BSMET.
I have a A.S. in Radiological Technology and will be finishing in a year with an A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology.
If you mean a job which subsidizes your further studies, very unlikely. Very, very unlikely unless you have some special claim on society.
In general, if you lack funds to finish your BS yourself, or grades high enough to get student loans to finish, but grades high enough to gain entrance to a BS program, your best bet will be to get an evening job and study half time.
In my case, I worked until I had enough money to finish three years before starting college, then worked part-time for those three years and managed to graduate without starving very much. It all worked out, eventually, and lots of others do the same thing or better every day.
Geared towards my middle school class, this video identifies and explains 10 tips to being successful in Mr. Krasselt’s E-Tech class.

what exactly is Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, i’m interested in computer engineering and electronics engineering. Is Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology just a combination of the two or what is it? Any answers would be great. Thanks in advance.
