Hello, I’m considering taking Chemical Engineering at Mohawk College this September. I loved chemistry and all sciences in high school and did ok (75-85%) in them. However, I’m a little worried that I won’t comprehend any of the material in college.

How difficult would you say first year college math, chemistry and physics courses are? And do they ususally go over a bit of what you learned in high school at the beginning?

hard as my cock when i put it in your mouth.

I am contemplating on if i should change my major. i am currently in civil engineering but i want to be out in the field and not behind a desk all day. Can you help me out?

Possibly consider sticking with Civil Engineering and become a site engineer. On site all day hardly a desk in site.

With the Civil Engineering degree under your belt you can then always change to a Consultant Engineer role later on in life if you find you want more desk time. Not sure if a Construction Engineering Technology Degree would allow you to become an Engineer without further learning.

I’ve recently looked in a majoring booklet, and all 3 have been put into seperate categories: Bio-engineering in the Engineering and Building section; Bio Technology in the Biology and sciences section; Doctors in the "medical" section, which supposedly isn’t even in the Biology and sciences section.
(And also, I’ve been told engineering isn’t exactly math. Is that true?)
What’s the difference between these 3 majors? What do you do, how many years of college, what do you have to be good at to do these jobs? (Such as, medical you have to be good at biology?)
Thanks!

Wow, complex question. This is going to take some effort. Hope you award "best answer" points!

I’m wondering about "bio-engineering"–if it’s in the engineering and building section, it might involve the emerging technologies of "green" design. Biotech is a profession that involves mucking about with genetics and micro-organisms in order to develop useful technologies–stuff like genetically altered agriculture, organic computer chips, or bacteria that eat up oil spills. Doctors of medicine, of course, are those that treat illnesses and injuries.

20 pts plz Here the rest of the question
What significant impact will science, technology, engineering, and math have on the national economy over the next ten years

Science and math leads to material improvements, that is fancier technology and more efficient engineering. It’ll make things cheaper and better.

From an economical point of view, that shouldn’t change anything. It’s been that way for decades.

I like more hands on work… but i also want a decent salary. i hear that mechanical engineering is mostly theoretical..what does that mean?

I got into Mechanical Engineering Technology at RIT (rochester institue of technology) is that good?

When you pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, you do not only take Math/Physics/Chem/Engineering subjects but are also enrolled in other non-Eng’g subjects such as Humanities, History, English and related courses that will give you a well-rounded education.

If you go the Mech Eng’g Technology route, the curriculum is concentrated more on the technical aspects of Mechanical Engineering.

whats the difference between the two? What kind of jobs are available to the technology one, and which is more likely to get hired? How much more do engineers make then technology majors ? are Electrical technology really engineers ?

According to this:
Students of electrical engineering technology learn the design, drafting, and technical skills they need to assist engineers and put engineering ideas into action.

It sounds like the technology version is more like an AS degree, so you can help an engineer. A technician really. If you are the helper, you always make less. How much is relative, but in CA a new BS. EE can expect anywhere from $55-$65k to start. So the AS degree will only get you into the upper $20k to mid $30k.
