Decipher this is it accredited or not….Engineering graduate programs are not normally subject to accreditation reviews. The MSETM is an OSU program, with cooperation between the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology, the College of Business Administration, and the College of Arts and Sciences. Each of these three colleges enjoys accreditation from its own accrediting body. For example, each of CEAT’s undergraduate programs is fully accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)

Since the school itself is a legitimate accredited school and each of the programs are accredited by legitimate bodies, I’d consider it fine. It’s a very specialized degree, so you aren’t going to find a body that accredits a program like that, so it will need to fall under the umbrella of the 3 sponsoring programs.

which schools can I apply to do graduate education in Electrical Engineering if i have a Bachelor of science in Electrical engineering technology ?
Most schools i have contacted say i need an engineering degree as if the one i have is not engineering so i am a bit confuse… HELP ANY ONE HELP!!

This is a sad situation and I’ve heard it many times. You think you’re getting an engineering degree and you aren’t, you are getting a technology degree. Not the same.

You cannot get an accredited MS in engineering without an accredited BS in engineering, and you don’t have that.

دغنی بابا کلامSardar Ali Takkar (born 15th of July, 1956), a veteran of the Pashto singing scene, is mostly famous for singing the revolutionary poetry of Ghani Khan. An engineer by profession, Takkar is a graduate of the University of Engineering and Technology (Peshawar). In recognition of his services to the field of music the President of Pakistan had bestowed upon him the Pride of Performance Award.

Born in 1956 at Takkar village (Thakt Bahi) Mardan, he passed his metric examination from his village school and did his F.Sc. from Government College Mardan. He completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar. Aside from this he has also attended special courses in U.K and Canada. His University life provided him more chances to exhibit his hidden talent. Initially he used to present his skills before his friends, in different musical programme in the university. But it was in 1982 when Yar Muhammad Maghmum, a professor at the historic Edward College Peshawar, wanted to celebrate an evening with the great legendry and dynamic philosopher Ghani Khan, but was unable to find a singer who was ready to meet the challenge of putting Ghani’s poetry in music. When Takkar became aware of the situation, he agreed to sing in that programme. Some people also recorded this programme on audio cassette, which got so prominence that even the music stores started selling it on regular basis. In this way, his debut album (solely based on Ghani khan’s poetry) touched the market, so incidentally. It was in those days when a programs for youths named “Zalmey Kool” (Young Generation) used to broadcast from the Radio Pakistan. Takkar for the first time not only played different instruments but also sang two ghazals in that Programs. After that, he also had the opportunity to record a programs at the Peshawar Center of Pakistan Television Vision (PTV). In 1984, Takkar left for Afghanistan. His stay in Afghanistan helped him in a way that he became able to sing poetry of those poets who were banned in Pakistan and his singing from Afghanistan also brought him prominence back at home. In recognition of his unforgettable services to Pashto Music, the government of Pakistan awarded him with the Pride of Performance. He is also a recipient of numerous awards and certificates from a number of cultural organizations

I love math and I’m good at it so is that degree right for me? I’m in the medical field right now so I’m not sure what I’m getting into.

Engineering is the application of science to solve a problem. Technology is the use of science in an object.
You can research colleges and universities by name, or by programs of study, or by geographical location, size, or combinations of all etc. The site will provide you with a list of institutions based on your request. It will give you the schools background, accreditation, degree offerings, programs of study, entrance requirements, tuition and fees, athletic programs etc. and a link to each institutions official web page. Make sure the college or university has a regional accreditation (most important). Practice navigating this site. It will be well worth the time and effort.

Hi I’m thinking to study civil engineering technology its lentgh is 3 years advance diploma.Sincerely what can I expect about that? I live in toronto.
Also I want to know if is it enought education to star my own construction company?

You should try working for a contractor firm before starting on your own – you’ll get the real "learning" that you need by working in the field. NOBODY is going to co-op/venture into a company with you based on your degree – you need real world experience after you graduate.

Hey there, I plan on going into electrical engineering but I have my doubts… I want to be able to design electronics but also do repairs on computers and maintenance and such. So given that, can you please tell me the difference between the two and your opinion on which one suits me most. Thanks!

I’m in a different branch of engineering, so I can’t speak very well to the careers aspect of your question. What I can tell you is that the university where I teach offers both EE and EET as 4-year, ABET-accredited, BSc degree programs. The EE degree requires math through calculus III and differential equations, while EET stops at calculus II. In general, throughout their respective curricula, EE places greater emphasis on theory, EET on application. In my experience, the EET students seem to be more practical and sociable, if you catch my drift.

I suspect that what your other answerers have said about EET graduates apply primarily to those who have earned less than a full BSc degree. You’re welcome to email me if you need more info.

An engineering and manufacturing road show on wheels has begun touring the UK to bring the latest and future technologies to businesses and schools.

MANTRA (The Manufacturing Technology Transporter) is a specially modified HGV packed with the latest machinery and simulators. The 14 metre long truck will take to the road with a dedicated team to demonstrate the manufacturing and assembly line technology of the future and help to inspire young people to take up careers in engineering.

Established by the University of Sheffields Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing (AMRC) and with funding from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and industry sponsors, MANTRA aims to introduce companies to the latest production engineering technology and techniques helping them to innovate with new products, increase productivity and keep UK manufacturing competitive.

It will also be used to show secondary school pupils how exciting manufacturing can be – using eye catching technologies such as virtual reality assembly and advanced modelling systems.

Im looking at going to a community college from this 4 year school that im at (for various reasons) and im considering majoring in Electro-mechanical engineering technology. What is its equivalent, normally? (I mean is it electrical or mechanical engineering or what)

The program will include both mentioned areas of engineering. However, it may not approach them from an academic point of view. Make sure that this is a university track program if you plan to return to a four-year school. Often at community colleges "technology" in the name of a major means that it is not university track program with transferable credits, but is a terminal vocational program whose credits will not be accepted by universities.

Yes, is industrial engineering technology BS a worthwhile degree to have? What does the job market, and earning potential look like for someone with this degree? Also, upon completion of the BS can you go on to pursue a MS in regular industrial engineering, or would it be preferred to obtain a MBA?

I would couple it with the MBA. Almost all of my friends that got IE undergraduate degrees went into consulting to start and then transitioned into management. The IE degree shows technical competence. When you put it together with an MBA companies will be interested in putting you into management opportunities with a technical competency.

Salaries will probably start ion the 50K to 70K (US dollars). I made my first six figure salary when I was 5 years out of college.
