I’m a junior and i am trying to figure out what college in Texas has the best major for Computer Engineering Technology
Texas Tech has a great program. One of the best in the country.

For example, what if someone has an interest in both Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Technology? How can you involve yourself with both Engineering and Engineering Technology?
It doesn’t have to be in terms of college but, how can you do school work in both engineering and engineering technolgy? If that makes it any easier.
sandy121…: Not a bad idea.
You just go to school and get taught the whole thing at once.
Established in 1984, the nationally recognized Welding Engineering Technology program is the largest of its kind in the United States. The program is designed to produce plant-level welding engineering technology graduates who are involved in the concept, design and engineering of weldments and implementation of welding processes. I’m curious and want to hear other peoples’ intake on this matter so feel free to share your knowledge in this for those who are in the engineering program.Who ever gives me the best information will be awarded ten points. This is what I think. ME generally has harder math and science courses. MET generally has harder engineering courses and is more applied to technology. Assuming both of these degrees are at the bachelors level.
When I attended college many years ago:
- to enroll in ME, you had to be in the upper 1/2 of your high school class.
- to enroll in MET, you had to be in the upper 2/3 of your high school class.
Also, ME is more concerned with abstract design work whereas MET is more concerned with practical hands-on work.

I am thinking of pursuing a career in biomedical engineering technology. Is it a very lucrative career?
money is always there..u jus have to excel in wat u do..though biomedical is upcomin but do it only if it interests u..
Fiat Group and Fiat Powertrain Technolgy unveiled its new air management technology 'Multiair' at the Geneva Motor Show. Multiair is an electro-hydraulic system of engine valves for dynamic and direct control of air and combustion, cylinder by cylinder and stroke by stroke. Thanks to a direct control of the air through the intake engine valves without using the throttle, Multiair helps reducing fuel consumption; and pollutant emissions are likewise reduced through combustion control. Video animation explains how the new technology works.

I am currently a mechanical engineering technology student in Tennessee. I know that in this state I can’t take the PE, but what states can I take it in? After I take it would other states uphold the PE?
I have a Civil Engineering Technology degree and in CT and MA
you can take the PE exam but you need eight years of experience
in stead of the standard 4 years. You still have to pass the FE exam first.
Civil P.E.
I have found plenty that offer a BS in EET, but I can’t find any that offer and Post Graduate degrees, if their are any.
And it is Electrical Engineering Technology and NOT Electrical Engineering.
I think in India there are several engineering colleges, especially IITs, NITs, and some special colleges like VIT,TKMCE, etc.

I am going to transfer soon but i’m not so sure what to do. I want to go for computer engineering but i’m also interested in computer engineering. I know i can major in both, but i saw this major "Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology" so i was wondering if this was a combination of both, or what exactly is it? Also what type of jobs could i work in if i majored in this…thanks in advance.
The difference is one guy is an actual engineer the other is a tech. They went to different schools. Im currently major in Computer engineering degree.
A degree in Engineering and a degree in Technology are different. an engineering makes you become an engineer( in long term you can get a job) while a tech degree make you become technician/technologist.
The ECE degree requires math through calculus III and differential equations, while ECET stops at calculus II.
Engineer = design / management if public safety is involved. $25 – $65 / hour.
Technologist = build / repair according to the Engineer’s design; design things that would not harm the public if the product failed. $16 – $30 / hour
Technician = build / repair. $8 – $24 / hour
i am 16 nd a junior in hs, im into computers and was wondering what i need or have to require to be a computer engineer/technology. also is there any difference in computer engineering or technology
also, what do people do in computer engineering/technology? is it kind of easy to get a job in that area?
To be an Engineer requires an engineering degree or certificate. This will typically mean that you have a full understanding of a computer system (printer/network device/or otherwise) at a detailed level. You’ll have a good understanding of how a file system works on your hard drive, how messages are sent through the internet, and much more.
Computer Technology is a broader area and can be anything from network engineer to help desk support to programming to database maintenance and design.
are they both the same? does Surveying Engineering Technology make more money?
A survey major means you will have your courses focused around being a surveyor and generally you will end up with a degree (BS) in surveying. Surveying Engineering Tech. generally means that the courses are not completely built around a survey profession.
As for money.. how much you make depends upon where you end up in life, but you will not simply graduate and be a surveyor. You should check with your state’s licensing agency to find out what the requirements are to be granted a license as a professional surveyor. (its not a slam dunk so you should not only learn what they are but also start that process BEFORE you graduate with any degree).
besides the fact that there is a one year difference.
was recently accepted into university to study engineering technology. however I have always aspired to study bachelor of engineering, and I cant seem to find an actual answer to my question.
engineering technology is like a water-down engineering degree.
less intense then the traditional engineering degree.
In what way have we been able to increase productivity through engineering technology? Is it by inventing machines, etc?
We have progressed some significant distance, but a lot more to go.
The routine sub aiders are.. jigs/fixtures, simple machines, levers, hydraulics, electricity, etc.,
If you notice, all branches of engineering are playing their part….
long way to go for nanotechnology, space science, biotechnology, communication, transport, environment, computers, electronics.
I’m interested to take Bachelor Of Aircraft Engineering Technology. But sometimes I wonder what is the different between Aeronautical And Aircraft engineering?
How much I could earn for a month?
Moreover,I’m a girl. Is this course suitable for me? They say Aeronautical is very demanding and to apply job is quite hard because they mostly prefer to pick man than women..
I have an Aerospace Engineering degree. Engineering technology is probably a 2-year degree..more geared towards maintainence and operations. Aeronautical engineering is 4-year and where you design planes…looking at around $56k a year starting out. Engineering tech would be less. It is a very demanding program so don’t do it unless you really enjoy it and are good at math. In my specific department there are about 15 engineers, 2 girls. There are way more men in the field than women just because more men take the classes, not because employers don’t want to hire women.
For example: What’s the difference between Aerospace Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Sciences and Aerospace Engineering Technology?
engineering is d discipline n profession of applying technical n scientific knowledge n utilizing natural laws n physical resources in order to design n implement materials, structures n machines that safely realize a desired objective..
Engineering science is a multi disciplinary program designed to integrate the sciences with traditional engineering such as research, design n analysis….
Engineering Technology (ET) is a field of study which focuses on the applications of engineering n modern technology rather than the theoretical…
